The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
